The University of Texas at Austin has received the 2017 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award (HEED) from INSIGHT into Diversity magazine. This is the sixth consecutive year the university has earned this national honor recognizing colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
HEED Award recipients are selected based on a comprehensive application that examines student and faculty demographics, graduation rates, course and degree offerings, student support services, diversity education initiatives, structures and policies that support diversity in all forms and cultural opportunities on campus, among other factors.
The university will be featured along with 79 other HEED recipients in the November issue of INSIGHT into Diversity, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.
Recipients include state universities as well as private institutions and community colleges. For more details, visit the INSIGHT into Diversity website.
