In celebration of our city’s robust LGBTQ+ community, the DDCE partnered with the Dell Medical School and the Texas Exes Pride Alumni Network at the annual PRIDE Parade on Saturday, Sept. 30 in downtown Austin.
This year, the DDCE marched alongside Texas Athletics amidst festive music, rainbow flags and colorful signs. Also exciting, the Gender & Sexuality Center, the Dell Medical School and the Texas Exes Pride Alumni Network coasted along the parade route in their own float (provided by the Dell Medical School). Despite the raincheck due to Hurricane Harvey, revelers came out in full force to march in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.
The PRIDE Festival is scheduled for Oct 21. The event was split into two separate dates due to Hurricane Harvey. Go to the Austin PRIDE website for more details.
