Dr. Tiffany Lewis was recently appointed the Director of both the Gateway Scholars and Longhorn Link Programs. Gateway is an institutionally funded success program and Longhorn Link is a federally funded TRIO Student Support Services Program (SSSP). The primary goal of both programs is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next. The programs take a holistic approach to preparing students by providing students with academic support, leadership development, and enrichment opportunities. In her role, she is responsible for the academic success of the students, which include managing the tutoring services, mentoring, and coaching.
Dr. Lewis received all three of her degrees, B.A. (2003), M.Ed. (2008) and PhD. (2017) from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to becoming the director, she joined the Longhorn Center for Academic Excellence (LCAE) team in 2006 and led the Faculty & Staff Mentor Program, the ACE (Achieving College Excellence) Program, and she served as the Program Coordinator and Assistant Director of the Gateway Scholars Program. In addition to her work with Gateway Scholars and Longhorn Link, she is part of the leadership team of the Fearless Leadership Institute, an initiative she helped to found in 2013.
