October Service Events
Oct. 10 – Horesboy 11am to 3pm
Candlelight Ranch needs volunteers to assist with the facilitation of the high ropes challenge courses and nature programs. Click here for more information!
Oct.12 – Boys and Girls Club Staff 10am to 3pm
Do you like to be outdoors? Candlelight Ranch needs help creating team building exercises and people who are comfortable taking groups on hikes. Sign up here!
Oct. 16 – College For A Day multiple shifts on registration page
Introduce 2nd-5th grade students to the college experience with the Neighborhood Longhorn Program. Volunteers will help students engage in a variety of activities that will give them a better understanding of UT Austin. Click here for more info!
Oct. 17 – DSACT Speech Program multiple shifts
The Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas (DSACT) needs volunteers to assist in child directed play, preparing a space for instruction, and aiding families with challenging behaviors. More info here!
Oct. 17: Block Walk 8am to 2pm
Team Captains and Volunteers will walk through the neighborhood to homes that responded to tree offer and mark tree placement with a flag. Volunteers should bring work gloves, hats, sunscreen, & water. For more info, click here!
Oct. 24 – ABA Panel Workshop 9am to 12:30pm
Volunteers are needed to help the event run smoothly and to provide childcare for parents attending the event. Background checks and TB tests will be required for all volunteers. Click here to volunteer!
Oct. 30 – Starbright Preschool Pumpkin Patch 9:30am to 11:30am
Small preschool in South Austin needs help with Pumpkin Patch–guiding students through booths such as face painting, pumpkin decorating, bean bag toss and more. Sign up here!
Oct. 31 – Spooky Skedaddle: UT Service Scholars Booth multiple shifts
The Spooky Skedaddle Halloween Festival will include the following activities: carnival games, costume parade, inflatable obstacle course, bounce house, Dell Children’s Star Flight Helicopter (11 a.m. to 12 p.m.), mini-horses, photo booth, cake walk, food trailers. For more info, click here!

DSACT Speech Program 1-2 times a month; Saturdays
The Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas is looking for volunteers to work with children, 1-2 times a month on Saturdays, on directed plays, preparing the space for instruction, as well as aiding families with challenging behaviors. For more info, click here!
Horse Boy Playdate Saturdays
Join the staff at Horse Boy Foundation in a weekly Saturday playdate for Autism families. The playdate is two hours long and includes back-riding,long- lining, tricks, sensory work, small animal petting zoo, arts and crafts or educational games and activities. More info here!
UT Concho Community Garden Multiple shifts
Volunteers needed every Tuesday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and Saturday from 10am to 12pm at the UT Concho Community Garden (Located on E. 21st St. and Concho St.) Come help out with things like: weeding, planting, helping with compost, decorating, as well as find out some new tricks about growing your own vegetables. Childcare Volunteer Mondays and Wednesdays
Any Baby Can is looking for reliable and long-term adult volunteers to help their Family Education Team provide childcare during parenting classes hosted at public housing locations. This opportunity repeats weekly on Monday and Wednesday from 12:00pm- 2:00pm. Sign up here!
Early Learning Readiness Program Tuesdays and Thursdays
YMCA of Austin Program services is conducting a 15 week early learning readiness program in which volunteers would assist the YMCA in updating the current 15 week curriculum to continually adjust to the ever changing education requirements for preschoolers. Volunteer also engaged in teaching the 15 week program which is offered in 3 locations across the city. This repeats weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Click here for more information!

Easter Seals Central Texas is holding a monthly group for kids ages 6-9 that have siblings with special needs. Volunteers are needed to help facilitate the activities, help with set up and clean up, and provide assistance wherever needed. For more info, click here!
