As the fall semester simmers down, the Christmas tree starts to go up, and students began to panic over finals,we would like to take a look back at some of the few awesome events here on the 40 Acres. On of those was our annual Be the Change Week in September to honor the late Mahatma Gandhi. With events such as the Day of Service, Volunteer Fair and Be the Change Day many students were able to connect with numerous non-profit organizations. October was an extra special month as our very own Texas Longhorns football team won the Red-River Showdown against OU.
Midterm elections also rolled around this time of year with more than 750,000 people registering to vote on National Voter Registration Day. We also had our annual Family Weekend which included great food and awesome activities for you and your family to do. November was even greater as we welcomed Class of 2023. That’s right there is already a Class of 2023 and they’re not even on campus yet but we welcome them with big open arms. This month also kicked off the biggest holiday event on campus, Orange Santa. Many toys were donated in support of families who are less unfortunate this Holiday season and we thank you so much.
Coming back from Thanksgiving break, we had our first volunteering giveaway which is just one of many. We also would like to give a big shout out to our very own Texas Volleyball team who won the Big 12 Championship and to our Texas Football team as they go head to head against Georgia in the All-State Sugar Bowl on December 29th.We hope everyone had an awesome semester and that you have an even better spring semester.
