During the summer there is lots of construction and remodeling taking place on campus. Sometimes these projects temporarily disrupt pedestrian routes or accessible pathways. Below are some disruptions that have been brought to our attention. We will continue to update these as we get additional information. Stay tuned!
Parlin Elevator Access: ADA upgrades will be made to the PAR elevator Aug. 22 – 26. It is probable that the work will be completed by Monday, August 25. In case of unforeseen conditions, please plan for the PAR elevator to be non-functional through 5:00 pm, Tuesday, August 26th.
Engineering Complex: OFPC will close the side walk outside of SER (north side of 24th) starting August 5th- August 15th during the demo and construction of the new fire lane apron in support of the EERC Project.
Inner Campus: The north sidewalk on 24th street between Whitis and University streets will be closed June 28, 2014-September 5, 2014 to allow for the cleaning of the masonry on the Geography building. Ramp and crosswalk access at both ends will be open to the south sidewalk, which will be available for pedestrians.
Update as of October 2014
San Jacinto Sidewalk Closure: The west side of the sidewalk from 24th St. to Dean Keeton will be closed due to construction at the Engineering complex. The east sidewalk along San Jacinto will remain open.
24th St. Sidewalk Closure: Portions of the sidewalk on the north side of 24th St. from Speedway to San Jacinto will be closed for approximately 3 weeks due to construction at the Engineering Complex. The south sidewalk along 24th St. will remain open.
Thanks for your patience as UT makes continuous improvements to our campus!
