During October SSD works with campus partners to host a variety of events in recognition of Disability Awareness Month.
Not only is Disability Awareness Month a federally recognized awareness month but Texas also recognizes the specific accomplishments and contributions of Texans with Disabilities during the month of October. The Texas Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities has compiled resources for you to use to recognize this month and learn about Texas Disability History: http://gov.texas.gov/disabilities/resources/disability_history.
We have an exciting line up of events planned throughout October and we would appreciate your support in attending and spreading the word about these events! We will be posting on social media all month so please feel free to like and share our Disability Awareness Month material on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/UTAustinServicesForStudentsWithDisabilities/ ) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/UT_SSDisability) .
