CCE programs provide opportunities for students to develop leadership and engagement skills outside the classroom; for instructors to develop community-based teaching and learning opportunities; and for community partners to meet and to collaborate in alignment around priorities. Offerings include The Community Engagement Collective, Alternative Breaks, The Project, VolunteerUT, Days of Service, the Community Classroom, the Front Porch Gathering, and more.

The Center for Community Engagement serves as a bridge between the university and the community, leveraging world-class university resources for the public good, with a particular focus on historically underserved populations and schools.

The CCE serves as a resource to all 19 colleges, schools, and units, and CCE staff connect faculty, staff, and students across the university with the resources needed to implement service-learning, community-based participatory research, collaborative convening, and co-curricular volunteer programming.

Boards and Commissions
DCCE staff serve on the following boards and commissions. By serving as advisors at the local, state, and national levels, staff are able to forge broad collaborations, to track current trends and priorities in higher education, and to strive to create greater and more impactful models.
Community Partnerships & Sponsorships
The DCCE partners with community organizations to collaborate on mutually beneficial programs and initiatives. The DCCE also provides sponsorship funding and a variety of in-kind support. Hogg Foundation for Mental Health
The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health works to advance mental health and well-being resources for communities across the state of Texas. In an effort to achieve its vision to help all people in Texas thrive in their everyday lives, the foundation supports research and learning, practice and implementation, and policy initiatives.
Longhorns for Engagement, Access, and Development
In partnership with Texas Athletics, Longhorns for Engagement, Access, and Development collaborates with student-athletes in philanthropic work with nonprofits across the state. Participating students have the opportunity to leverage university resources for the public good—providing sponsorship funding and community service work to the nonprofits of their choosing.
Texas Grants Resource Center
For more than 50 years, the CCE’s Texas Grants Resource Center has connected grant-seekers with grant-makers as well as valuable research materials. The TGRC also provides free consultations for both nonprofit organizations and individuals.
University Interscholastic League
The University Interscholastic League provides educational extracurricular academic, athletic and music contests for Texas schools. The UIL was created by The University of Texas at Austin in 1910 and has grown into the largest inter-school organization of its kind in the world.
