The success of UT’s Hearts of Texas charitable giving campaign would not be possible without the support of our dedicated Retired Faculty and Staff Association (RFSA). Last year, the campaign received the Capital Area State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) Lyndon B. Johnson Award for most state retiree donors. UT faculty, staff and retirees raised over $519,000 for over 500 charities. Together, the UT community contributed about 28% of funds raised for those most in need here in Central Texas.
As part of the SECC, Hearts of Texas provides an opportunity for faculty, staff and retirees to contribute to local and statewide charities. Organized by the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement, the campaign runs throughout the entire month of October. Since this effort began in 1996 the UT Austin community has donated over $12 million to worthy causes. For more information, please contact Hearts of Texas campaign manager, Milly Lopez.
The current campaign goal is $500,000.
