This Saturday is the last day to catch the “Gently Fried” art exhibition at The Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Arts Center. Created by a four-man team of curators known as Los Outsiders, the exhibition aims to spread awareness through artistic expression about the effects of gentrification in the rapidly changing city of Austin.
DDCE senior designer Robert Jackson Harrington is one of the four masterminds behind “Gently Fried,” which is comprised of three parts: a program of performance art, an exhibition, and a symposium. Here are just a few highlights from the exhibition since it opened at the MACC last April.
One of 52 cards in Los Outsiders Collective’s #LoteriaATX deck (Austin-Art specific cards created and sold to fundraise) illustrated by Harrington. Does the musician look familiar? Perhaps that’s because he was modeled after DDCE’s digital media manager Jason Molin.
