The Project 2018 will take place on February 24, 2018 throughout the Rundberg community. Historically, the Rundberg area has been one of high crime due to the influx of criminal activities surrounding the intersection of I-35 and E. Rundberg Ln. Even though most of these crimes are unrelated to the citizens who live there, the area of Rundberg is often neglected and avoided. This results in an underserved community and an inherently negative outlook on the area from outsiders looking in. Despite this, the area of Rundberg is constantly growing in size due to immigration from a plethora of regions, resulting in a rich community of diverse cultures. The Project’s commitment to Rundberg this year emphasizes a commitment to be informed about the residents of Austin outside the tiny UT bubble while still embodying our core mantra, “Leave it better than you found it.” Our desire to serve the community around us unites the UT student body by creating a common goal shared by student and community member alike, resulting in the beautification of the area around us and ourselves.
