Feb. 17 Community Engagement Dialogue: Austin and the Challenge of Affordable Housing

It’s expensive to live in Austin. And, with Austin’s booming popularity and its rapid gentrification, it is especially difficult for low-income families to secure a place of their own – either to rent or to own. Austin’s leadership is engaged in an ongoing conversation about ways that this city might address the very real need for housing among diverse Austin residents. Join William “Teddy” McDaniel, president and CEO of the Austin Area Urban League, Walter Moreau, executive director of Foundation Communities and Place 2 City Council member Delia Garza as they discuss affordability issues.

  • When: Wednesday, February 17, 2016, 6:00-7:30 p.m.
  • Where: Wesley United Methodist Church, 1164 San Bernard Street

The Community Engagement Dialogue series is sponsored by DDCE’s Community Engagement Center which is part of our Longhorn Center for Community Engagement, led by Dr. Suchitra Gururaj.
