The Hearts of Texas Charitable Campaign, UT’s tradition of charitable giving, received the Capital Area State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) award for the highest per capita gift in an agency of 1,500 or more employees. Last year’s drive amounted to $48.61 per employee.
As part of the SECC, Hearts of Texas provides an opportunity for faculty and staff to contribute to more than 500 charities. Organized by the DDCE, the campaign runs throughout the entire month of October. Since this effort began in 1996 UT Austin has donated nearly $10 million to worthy causes.
