UT, Excelencia in Education Webinar April 20: Latino Males in Higher Education

Excelencia in Education, in collaboration with the University of Texas at Austin, is offering a webinar on Latino Males in Higher Education: Action for Progress, on April 20, 2016, from 2-3 p.m. Central time.
The webinar will explore the disparity between Latino and Latina students. While college enrollment among Latino males continues to rise, they still lag behind female Latino students, and that disparity increases as the level of higher education increases.
Latino males represent more than half of traditional college-aged Americans, and their college success will be vital to America’s future. This webinar brings together some of the strongest thought leaders in this area to discuss not only what we know but also what we can do to accelerate college enrollment and completion among Latino males.
Speakers include Victor Sáenz, associate professor in the Department of Educational Administration and executive director of Project MALES; William Serrata, president of El Paso Community College; Sarita E. Brown, president of Excelencia in Education; and Deborah A. Santiago, COO and vice president for policy at Excelencia in Education.
We invite you to register for this webinar to find out more about the standing of Latino males in higher education now, the challenges they face, and what we can do to accelerate Latino student success.
