MEC Hosting Dialogue 7/8 to Discuss Current Tragic Events

Twenty-three bright high school students from across the country are visiting our campus though a partnership between Verizon and the Texas Advanced Computing Center in collaboration with the Intellectual Entrepreneurship Consortium (IE) . The students are rising 10th and 11th graders from NY, Philadelphia, Detroit, Connecticut, Texas, Florida and North Carolina. Their focus for the future is entrepreneurship and the students are from undeserved populations. They, too, are grappling with the events of the past 72 hours and would like to talk about it.
The MEC (SAC 1.102) is hosting a dialogue today from 2-4 p.m. to allow space for these students to do just that. This is also a great opportunity for them to meet students and understand that our community at UT is strong and supportive. One of the diversity coordinators from CMHC will be in attendance as well. We hope to see you there; but if we don’t, take good care of yourselves and each other.
