DDCE Staff Profile: Tamaria K. Perry

In our next installment of the staff profiles, we’re featuring Tamaria K. Perry, a talented new member of our development team!
In her current role as the assistant vice president of development, she supports the friends and fundraising efforts of the DDCE. Her portfolio includes operational excellence and administrative responsibilities, specifically stewardship and the engagement of the DDCE Advisory Council. She also engages in direct fundraising efforts, which includes a portfolio of corporations, individuals and foundations.
Before joining the DDCE, Perry served in a senior staff position as the secretary for her alma mater, Spelman College. She also acted as the liaison between the Spelman Board of Trustees and the college, in which she supported cross-divisional collaborations, mainly commencements, honorary degrees, risk management and institutional standards of excellence. She also maintained engagements with two consulting clients within her own consulting firm, Orenda Associations, Inc.
After accepting her DDCE position, she relocated from Georgia to Austin in January, 2016. When asked about her favorite part of her new job, Perry is quick to answer, “The people! We have a great group of individuals who embody the mission and vision of the division and come together to work effectively as a team.”
In her spare time, Perry enjoys reading and meeting up with her book club, as well as spending quality time with her friends and family.
She says that this has been “a wonderful season of change and new adventures!”
