Emily Shryock Honored with Employee of the Year Award

Congratulations to Emily Shryock, assistant director of Services for Students with Disabilities! Shryock was honored as a 2016 Employee of the Year by the Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities. She was nominated by Dr. Amy Sharp, from the Texas Center for Disability Studies at UT Austin, and recognized for her outstanding efforts to bring more robust and innovative opportunities to campus. On the job, Shryock coordinates services and accommodations for students with medical, mobility and visual disabilities, and oversees outreach programming, education initiatives and assessment methods. The 37th annual Mayor’s Committee Employment Awards were given at the #InclusionWorks event that honored local businesses and employees.

Shryock has a master’s degree in Social Work and an associate’s degree in American Sign Language.
