Here to Help: Campus-Wide Support Services for Students, Faculty, Staff

image of studentsWith the holiday season and final exams on the horizon, now is a good time to remind our university community that there are many offices, centers and units here on campus that provide a broad range of support services. Listed below are some free resources that offer assistance and guidance in a safe, welcoming environment.

Behavior Concerns Advice Line

Are you worried about a student in your class, bothered that your roommate has been acting differently, or concerned about the behavior of a co-worker? Do you have concerns about a friend but are not sure what to do? If so, contact the Behavioral Concerns Advice Line at 512-232-5050 or submit your concerns using the online form.

Campus Climate Response Team

Help make the campus a safer, more inclusive place by reporting a bias incident to the Campus Climate Response Team. Go to this Campus Climate Incident Online Report Form to submit your concerns.  Students are encouraged to contact the Office of the Dean of Students at 512-471-5017 to report an incident or schedule an appointment with a staff member. UT Employees, campus visitors and contractors are encouraged to contact the Office for Inclusion and Equity at 512-471-1849 to report an incident and schedule an appointment with a staff member.

The Counseling and Mental Health Center

The Counseling and Mental Health Center (Student Services Building, 5th floor) provides counseling, psychiatric, consultation and prevention services that facilitate students’ academic and life goals and enhance their personal growth and well-being. Contact: (512) 471-3515.

The Gender and Sexuality Center

The Gender and Sexuality Center (Student Activity Center, room 2.112) provides opportunities for all members of the UT Austin community to explore, organize and promote learning around issues of gender and sexuality. The center also facilitates a greater responsiveness to the needs of women and the LGBTQ communities through education, outreach and advocacy. Contact: 512-232-1831, gsc@austin.utexas.edu.

The Multicultural Engagement

The mission of the Multicultural Engagement Center (Student Activity Center, room 1.102) is to transform lives by providing diverse educational opportunities and support services for students. Resources include social justice education training, event co-sponsorship, leadership development opportunities, meeting space and more. Contact: 512-232-2958, mec@austin.utexas.edu

Services for Students with Disabilities

Services for Students with Disabilities (Student Services Building, fourth floor) works to make UT Austin a more inclusive, accessible and welcoming environment for people with disabilities.
