UT Elementary Students Fund Raise for Walk for Water
Our fifth-grade Little Longhorns are raising money for the annual Walk for Water campaign to help make sure children in other countries have access to clean water and education. This year, the fifth graders are partnering with Water to Thrive, a local nonprofit organization that is dedicated to raising awareness of the global water crisis, while raising money to provide wells who desperately need them in rural Africa.
The UT Elementary School students are selling notecards with original art for $5 for ten cards and also have a web page on the Water to Thrive site for donations. Note cards may be purchased in the school office. According to fifth-grade science teacher Scarlett Calvin, the class will be fund-raising throughout the year.
