Jelisa Jay Robinson (B.F.A., Theatre and Dance, ‘14) is a finalist for the Seattle Public Theatre’s Emerald Prize. The $10,000 prize will connect a nationally recognized playwright to the Seattle area’s performance community so the region’s voice is heard in national conversations. The winning playwright will be announced March 4.

She attributes much of her academic success to her mentors in the Intellectual Entrepreneurship Citizen Scholars program.

“I am grateful to the Intellectual Entrepreneurship (IE) program and would like to thank my IE mentors Abra Chusid and Rene Carrasco for supporting and encouraging my playwriting endeavors,” said Robinson in a statement provided by the IE Program.
