Student Volunteers to Beautify Rundberg at the 18th Annual Project
Hundreds of University of Texas at Austin volunteers are expected to participate in The Project 2017, one of the largest one-day student-run service events in the nation. The 18th annual Project is happening Saturday, Feb. 25, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Rundberg neighborhood.
After the morning kickoff ceremony, including remarks from Austin Mayor Steve Adler, volunteers will disperse to 17 sites around the Rundberg neighborhood to begin their landscaping, painting and construction projects. Go here for an area map and a list of work sites. Large numbers of volunteers will be working at Lanier High School, Harmony Science Academy and Wooldridge Elementary School.
Established in 1999 by the Longhorn Center for Community Engagement, The Project is the annual culmination of a 12-month partnership effort involving UT student volunteers, city government departments, community organizations and local businesses.
