Project MALES, Con Mi MADRE Students Wrap Up Leadership Summer Camp

This week, a large gathering of students in two academic success programs—Project MALES and Con Mi MADRE—have explored the power of leadership and resilience through several interactive self-reflection activities at the inaugural Leadership Summer Camp. With a focus on “resiliency through leadership,” the summer program is helping students learn about their strengths through a number of creative outlets—from poetry slams to expressive writing to documentary filmmaking.
The program will continue with more fun-filled activities, including a 90’s dance party and sleepover at Jester Residence Hall—including mothers and family members —on Friday, July 21. The camp will conclude with video presentations and awards, as well as a rap concert on Saturday afternoon. Photos throughout the four-day summer camp can be found on the DDCE’s Flickr site.
