The People of DDCE: Jeff Becker
Jeff Becker exemplifies what it means to be a Longhorn: He strives to create positive change in the world by assisting communities in Austin. As an executive assistant in DDCE, Becker does this by providing organizational support for Office of the Vice President and Community and External Relations operations.
“I enjoy the work I do and take pride in our efforts and contributions to improve our local community and better the society as whole,” Becker says. “It’s fun meeting community leaders and learning about organizations and events.”
Becker’s work with DDCE officially began in November 2016. Prior to this, he worked on campus in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese in the College of Liberal Arts. He graduated from UT Austin in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Latin American studies.
When he’s not busy in the office, Becker enjoys playing soccer, practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and traveling. He has visited countries throughout Europe and Latin America and plans to journey to Ghana in 2018.
This school year he most looks forward to building new relationships across campus and contributing to a healthy university environment.
