On a damp and drizzly Friday morning, UT-University Charter School (UT-UCS) students, faculty, staff and friends came together to celebrate their brand new sport court at the UT-UCS Texas NeuroRehab Center (TNC) campus. Complete with basketball hoops and a four-square court, this new gift, provided by the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, is a welcome addition to the South Austin campus.

During the ceremony, several students shared their gratitude. One student stated that the sport court brought everyone together like a family reunion. Another said the activity area brought joy and happiness into his daily life.

In addition to sports, students will use the space for various activities—from morning meditations to team-building exercises. The lessons they’ll learn from the court, she notes, will serve them well when they transition into the next phase of their lives.
