Students, Athletes Come Together at Adapted Sports Night
In the spirit of Disability Awareness Month, faculty, staff and students and alumni came together for a night of hot-rod cycling, wheelchair basketball and various other activities at the third annual Adapted Sports Night on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Recreational Sports Center.
Hosted by Services for Students with Disabilities, the open house event offers all participants an opportunity to play various sports adapted to accommodate different disabilities—from blind base running to wheelchair rugby.
Participants also met with local athletes—including current UT Austin students and alumni—to learn more about their experiences competing on the national and international stage.
