GSC Hosts Stonewall Symposium to Advance LGBTQA+ Inclusive Policies and Practices

Faculty and staff from universities and school districts across the nation came together at the 2018 Stonewall National Education Project Symposium April 15-17 at UT Austin. Hosted by the Gender and Sexuality Center, the three-day event focused on inclusive policies and practices for LGBTQA+ students.

Participants explored an array of topics in workshops and panel discussions, such as anti-bullying policies, faculty and staff Ally training and gender-inclusive curriculum. Guest speakers included Wade Davis, former NFL player and consultant; and Annise Parker, former Houston mayor and Victory Fund president and CEO.

Housed within the Stonewall National Museum and Archives, the Stonewall National Education Project is an advocate for the safety, inclusion and value of LGBTQA+ students.
