Milly Lopez, director of institutional partnerships, has been honored with the DiversityFIRST™ Award from the Texas Diversity Council. The award recognizes her commitment to diversity and inclusion. She will be celebrated at the council’s awards luncheon on Oct. 18.

A longtime staff member at the DDCE, Lopez previously served as the associate director for community and external relations. Among her many responsibilities in this role, she spearheaded a number of successful large-scale events and campaigns including the university-wide Hearts of Texas Charitable Giving Campaign and Explore UT. In her new position, she will be spearheading corporate and community partnerships and sponsorships.

“It is awesome to see Milly being recognized for her achievements,” says Leonard N. Moore,  vice president for diversity and community engagement and George W. Littlefield Professor of American history. “This award from the Texas Diversity Council is a testament to the many years of hard work she has performed on behalf of DDCE. In her new role as director of institutional sponsorships Milly will be able to have a greater impact on UT and in the greater Austin area.”
