Photo Highlights from the 20th Annual Project

More than 500 students volunteered at the 20th annual The Project, UT’s largest day of service on Saturday, Feb. 23. Throughout the day, they worked on an array of neighborhood beatification projects at various sites around the Rundberg area – from building benches to painting buildings and curbs to sprucing up school gardens.

This was The Project’s fourth and final year in Rundberg. Thanks to a $15,800 grant from the Home Depot Foundation—longtime partners of The Project—new prospects are on the horizon for next year’s event. Project coordinators are currently seeking new opportunities for the future ahead and more details will come next spring.

Organized by the Longhorn Center for Community Engagement, this student-run event is held on the last Saturday of February. Below are a few images from the milestone event. Watch student and community partner interviews on the Fox 7 Austin news site. The Project was also featured on Spectrum News.
