ZOOM Background Competition

For our first-ever virtual all-division staff meeting we’re having a ZOOM background competition. We encourage all units to create and use their custom ZOOM background.

Instructions

  1. Work with your AVP or unit director to establish what team/teams will be creating a ZOOM background for the competition.
  2. Work with your team to create a background (see guide and guidelines below).
  3. Submit your background .jpg by email to Milly Lopez by end-of-day Monday, May 4.
  4. Make your team’s background your ZOOM background in time for the All-Division Staff Meeting on May 6, 1:00 p.m.

Then, work with your team to create a background (after coordinating with your unit’s director), whether it’s professional, fun, beautiful, creative, etc. There are no official categories; prizes will be awarded based on the virtues of the entries.

How To Make A ZOOM Background

Zoom Background Image Specs
Format: .jpg, .png, and .gif
Dimension: 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels (16:9 aspect ratio)
Maximum file size: 5 MB

ZOOM background with demensions

You can use PowerPoint to create your background if you don’t have any other image editing software. This assumes you know how to create and edit slides in PowerPoint.

PowerPoint dimensions default to 1920 by 1080 pixels – 16:9 Widescreen.

Step 1 Launch PowerPoint.

Step 2 Choose a blank presentation.

Step 3 Use your first slide to create your background. Insert text, clipart, photos, etc. BE CREATIVE!

Step 4 Once you’re happy with your background, under “File” in your drop menu select “Export…”

Step 5 You should see a dialog box that lets you name the image and where to save it.

Step 6 Next to “File Format: a drop down menu of file type. Select “JPEG.”

Step 7 Click the “Export” button and you’re done!
