Nabeeha is a storyteller with over a decade of demonstrated expertise in conducting rigorous research & communicating complex concepts simply. With a PhD. in Media Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, her research interests include development communication, entertainment-education, and television serials in South Asia with a focus on women’s issues. She holds a B.A. in English Literature from Miami University, an M.A. in International Studies from the University of Washington, and has worked in academic, corporate and non-profit environments in various capacities over the years.
Her dissertation investigated strategic Entertainment-Education based interventions (including mental and maternal health messaging) in women’s lives. It explored the socio-legal potential and impacts of this messaging on women’s health and safety, as well as on women’s own understanding of the rights and resources available to them.
Having lived on two continents, and in six different cities, she enjoys exploring how different places impact our day to day living and outlook on life.
P.S: She is a fan of colder climates and Austin tends to be a bit of a struggle during summer!
