Why I Serve Statement:
I serve to help creating a better world. I believe that together we can improve our communities and fight against injustices that round us. I serve because I believe that we are connected in this world and what affect one of us, definitely affect us all. My experience in serving comes from my involvement with the anti-racism struggle in my own country, and I believe that a participation in a trip about systemic racism in New Orleans will give me the possibility of listen and learn from other activist experiences. I believe that one of the principles that motivates me is the African concept Ubuntu: I am, because we are and I look forward to exercise it during this journey.
