All members of the University community play a role in making the campus accessible and welcoming to individuals with disabilities; however, certain departments have specific responsibilities. Refer to the guidance below to help determine which University resource to contact. These officials will be familiar with the law, University policy, and the nuances of when and where certain animals will be allowed on campus as an accommodation and what process the University should undertake to make such accommodations.
Disability and Access
Disability and Access facilitates individual accommodations for all students with disabilities throughout the entire University. Students planning to bring a service animal to campus are highly encouraged to let Disability and Access know they are planning to use a service animal to help the University address any logistical issues with the animal’s presence, such as access to restricted areas and ensuring appropriate space for the animal. Students seeking approval to bring a service animal or emotional support animal to University housing should contact Disability and Access as early as possible to begin the approval and registration process.
