Project Requests

Get your project started.

The DCCE’s communications team is here to help with marketing and communications support. To get started, please fill out our job request form. Please note that all requests must include deadlines and a primary point-of-contact. We require at least five business days’ notice for smaller projects, and significantly longer for larger or multicomponent projects. Print projects also need additional time for printing mailing, so please keep this in mind when inputting requested deadlines. Once you submit a request, a member of our communications team will contact you soon to gather additional information. If we are unable to take on your project, we will do our best to provide alternative solutions or direct you to other resources.

Listed below are a few of our most requested projects and information on how to get started.

Event Marketing and Support

Getting the word out

If your event is free and open to the public, please submit to our form to request promotional marketing on the DCCE’s social media channels. Please allow for two weeks of lead time so we can build the news item into our editorial calendar. Other resources include the Texas Today events calendar (for events that are of general interest to the university community); Hornslink (for registered student orgs); Longhorn Connection (for general student-related events); University Unions DigiKnow Screens (for registered student orgs and university departments).

Design Assets

Requests for printed materials (flyers, T-shirt graphics, programs, invitations, etc.) and other event collateral (UT backdrops, signage, etc.) must allow for extensive lead time, preferably months in advance. These requests oftentimes involve multiple tasks, so we ask for each task to be submitted to our form individually.

Media Coverage

Is your event free and open to the public? Is it timely and of interest to general audiences? If so, please submit to our form to request a media advisory at least two weeks in advance of the event.

Internal Emails

If you’re looking to send a Division-wide email, or to a long list of multiple colleagues, please submit your request for consideration and provide a four-week lead time so we can build your message into our e-newsletter calendar.

Social Media

Are you planning on starting a new social media account and need assistance with design assets? First, please defer to our social media guidelines page for information on best practices, policies and strategic planning tips. If you plan to proceed with your request, please provide a four-week lead time and fill out our job request form. Interested in having your content posted or promoted on our social media channels? Please submit a request for consideration.

DCCE Monthly E-Newsletter Submissions

We are always looking for new stories to promote in our monthly e-newsletter, so please send us your news via our form for consideration. The e-newsletter is distributed during the first week of the month, so please be mindful of time-sensitive materials such as events when submitting a request.

Websites

Our office is here to help with website creation, updates and accessibility. Please fill out our job request form and allow for an extensive lead time. We will get back in touch with you for a consultation on the timeline and how to best move forward with a new website—or perhaps how to re-strategize your existing site.

Photography and Videography

We take on photography and videography projects in accordance with our strategic marketing plan, which aligns with the primary communications objectives set by the Office of the Vice President. If you need a photographer or videographer, please submit to our form and we will take your project into consideration or put you in touch with a professional on the university’s approved vendors list. If you are in need of equipment, UT Libraries offers free camera and tripod rentals.
