The Division of Diversity and Community Engagement (DDCE) continues to prioritize programmatic work that best impacts student diversity, success and community engagement. Our partnership and sponsorship programs collaborate with organizations to develop community and education initiatives that cultivate industries of opportunity for our students and Texas communities in effort to drive innovation and social impact. Partners include university units and affiliates, nonprofit organizations, and corporations (see below).
Definitions
Partnership – An arrangement DDCE makes with an organization, private or public entity to provide a program, service, or resource that will help support a community initiative, and also benefit the university. Partnership efforts bring together organizations and individuals who agree to use an entity’s influence to acknowledge distribution of specific roles and responsibilities among the participants and take action on shared goals for the benefit of the community and university. Partnerships include joint collaboration on programming and/or initiatives.
Partnership Definitions:
Community Partnership – collaboration on an initiative with a community organization or entity, typically a non-profit or service organization
Corporate Partnership – collaboration on an initiative with a corporate organization or entity, typically a for-profit organization, ie. UFCU, Google
Campus Partnership – collaboration on an initiative with an academic or administrative College, School, or Unit (CSU) within UT
Division-Wide Partnership – collaboration on an initiative between any of the units within DDCE
UT-Affiliate Partnership – collaboration on an initiative with a UT affiliated entity, ie. Texas Exes, UT System
Academic Institution Partnership – collaboration on an initiative with an academic entity, ie. St. Edwards, H-T, A&M
Government, Professional, and Regulatory Agency Partnership – local, state, and federal government entities, ie. THECB, NADOHE, TEA, SECC, etc.
Sponsorship – A funding arrangement DDCE makes to an individual, organization, and private or public entity to support a program, service, or resource that will help support a university or community initiative.
Sponsorship Definitions:
Co-Sponsorship – financial support for one or more event, initiative, program, or project where there are multiple sponsors covering the cost of the initiative
Student Co-Sponsorship – financial support for one or more official UT student group event, initiative, program, or project where there are multiple sponsors covering the cost of the initiative
Student Sponsorship – financial support for one or more official UT student group event, initiative, program, or project where DDCE is the sole sponsor covering the cost of the initiative
Institutional Sponsorship – non-financial support for an external entity’s event, initiative, program, or project where DDCE is the name sponsor in order to provide access to UT
In-Kind Sponsorship – non-financial support for an external or UT entity’s event, initiative, program, or project where DDCE provides a resource or service, ie. consultation, volunteers
Corporate Sponsorship – financial support from a corporate organization or for-profit entity’s event, initiative, program, or project
Community Sponsorship – financial support for a non-profit organization or entity’s event, initiative, program, or project
Campus Sponsorship – financial support for an initiative within an academic or administrative College, School, or Unit (CSU) at UT
UT-Affiliate Sponsorship – financial support for an initiative within a UT affiliated entity, ie. Texas Exes, UT System

- One-Time – collaboration on a one-time initiative
- One-Year – collaboration on more than one initiative during a one-year period
- Multi-Year – collaboration on one or more initiatives during a set multi-year period, this type of partnership must be supported by a Memo of Understanding (MOU) agreement between participating parties
- Year-to-Year – collaboration on one or more initiatives that continue from year-to-year upon the agreement of participating parties and without an executed Memo of Understanding.
