This past Wednesday on September 26, the Longhorn Center For Community Engagement put on their annual Volunteer Fair for Be the Change week. With an abundance of nonprofit organizations from around the greater Austin area, students at the University of Texas were able to acquire more information about the organization and also had a chance to sign up for volunteering opportunities.

A few of the organizations that attended were Texas Thon, Austin Parks Foundation, Mothers MILK Bank, Green Corn Project, Susan G. Komen Austin, Child Inc, Texas Book Festival, and many more. Here at the Longhorn Center for Community Engagement hope that our students were able to find a volunteering opportunity and if not then you can head on over to utvolunteers.org to find one that best suits you. We would like to give a special thanks to Texas Iron Spikes for grilling and serving up some delicious fajitas, and also all of the organizations who came out, you guys are awesome.

If you missed out on the event this year don’t worry we will be back next Fall with even more organizations and more opportunities. Remember Longhorns to always #bethechange. Visit our social media pages to discover more volunteering opportunities @utlcce. Also stop by our office in the SSB 4.400 to speak to someone in person about volunteering opportunities.
