Convened by Equity and Community Advocacy at the Center for Community Engagement, The Community Housing Hub works to provide research and resources made available from both faculty, staff, students and organizations who work on housing-related issues at the University of Texas, and community partners who advocate for communities most impacted by housing inequity.
The Community Housing Hub is a consortium of University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) students and faculty, along with Central Texas community members and advocates, dedicated to addressing housing inequity. This collaborative conducts critical research that privileges communal storytelling as a basis for policy advocacy and grassroots intervention.
We particularly focus on research that includes, but is not limited to, the following: Historical and Cultural Preservation; Gentrification and Displacement; Affordable Housing and Homestead Protection. Our objective is to create an accessible, centralized database of housing related research conducted by UT associates and local advocates. Ultimately, The Community Housing Hub will connect relevant data and information to community stakeholders.
