SSD is excited to welcome incoming and returning students to campus for the Fall 2018 semester! We’ve planned a number of welcome events designed to help get your semester off to a great start! Whether you need a refresher on using the SSD Web Portal, want to gain confidence in talking to your professors or connect with other students we’ve got you covered! Mark your calendar for the events below!

Want to meet other students and get involved with disability awareness and advocacy on campus? Come learn more about DASC! Regular weekly meetings will start on September 17th in SAC 3.116. Email dascatut@gmail.com for information.
Deaf/Hard of Hearing Meet and Greet: Tuesday September 11th: 5-6:30pm in SSB 4.206 (The SSD Office)
Deaf and Hard of Hearing UT students and other members of the UT community are invited to connect and build community. All are welcome to attend!
Discuss Your Accommodations with Confidence: September 12th: 3:00-4:00pm – RSVP required
Do you want to improve your skill and confidence in talking to professors about your accommodations? Join SSD and the Student Ombuds for an interactive self-advocacy workshop that will prepare you to approach your professors with more confidence.
Campus Safety Event: Tuesday September 25th: 4:30-5:30 in SAC 3.106
Do you know how to evacuate buildings on campus or how to receive emergency notifications? Come learn and ask questions of campus safety experts about how to stay safe on campus!
