SSD is excited to welcome two new Disabilities Services Coordinators to our team in time for the start of the Spring 2020 semester. We hope you have the opportunity to meet these new staff members soon!
Lori Gonzalez
Lori Gonzalez was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and has since lived in two college towns (San Marcos and College Station). She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and received her Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Texas State University. Lori has worked most recently as a Residence Director and formerly as a Disability Specialist at Texas State University. She is passionate about working with low-income students, first generation students, students with disabilities, and the LGBTQIA+ community. She loves traveling and has now traveled to 58% of the U.S. states, visiting plenty of national and state parks along the way! She enjoys playing racquetball and spending time with her family and fur babies.
Jasper Howard
Jasper Howard is an alum with both a bachelor’s and masters’ degree from UT Austin. Being a military kid, she’s spent almost half her life overseas before finding herself in Texas 10 years ago. After earning her master’s in August 2019, she spent a semester at Southwestern University traveling to San Antonio, West Texas, and Nashville, TN as an admission counselor before making her way back to the Forty Acres. Her passions include mental health awareness, identity development, and aspects of the student-athlete experience. She doesn’t have much free time since her one-year old son, Jamari, runs her life, but she enjoys board games, Mario Kart, and wrestling with her children, Jamari, Leo and Roscoe (Leo and Roscoe are her two large dogs).
