AAHD Frederick J. Krause Scholarship on Health and Disability
The American Association on Health and Disability is accepting applications for the Frederick J. Krause Scholarship for undergraduate (sophomore standing and above) and graduate students with disabilities who are majoring in a field related to disability and health.
Preference is given to students majoring in a field related to disability and health, to include, but not limited to public health, health promotion, disability studies, disability research, rehabilitation engineering, audiology, disability policy, special education, occupational therapy, physical therapy and majors that will impact quality of life of persons with disabilities.

American Association of People with Disabilities NBCUniversal Tony Coelho Media Scholarship
The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) is proud to offer the NBCUniversal Tony Coelho Media Scholarship. In 2017 the NBCUniversal Tony Coelho Media Scholarship will offer eight (8) scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities who are interested in pursuing a career in the communications, media, or entertainment industry. The Springboard Foundation
The purpose of the Foundation is to provide scholarships to full-time college/university students who have documented disabilities of any type, deemed to be protected under the Americans With Disabilities Act and/or the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Mobility Scooters Direct Scholarship Program
Mobility Scooters Direct provides a $1,500 scholarship each year to selected students who apply to the program. All applicants must meet certain criteria outlined below and submit an application via email or US mail. Applicants are also required to provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher, professor or counselor from the school being attended by the applicant. One applicant will be randomly selected at the end of each year for a $1,500 scholarship. Scholarships for Students with Physical Disabilities
1800Wheelchair Scholarship
This program awards monies to assist undergraduate students with their academic pursuits. To qualify, students must be enrolled undergraduate in “good standing” at an accredited college/university maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and a legal resident of the U.S. or hold a valid student visa. Students attending a two-year, four-year, or graduate school program full time in the fall are eligible to apply. Applicants must be under a physician’s care for a spinal cord injury, spina bifida, transverse myelitis, or neurogenic bladder.
National Spinal Cord Injury Association Scholarships
Provides a listing of scholarships available for students with mobility disabilities.
Karman Healthcare Scholarship Program
Open to all college, and university students with a mobility disability who use a wheelchair, or other mobility devices on a regular basis. This scholarship will apply to students this year who have excelled academically and those who have a regard for disability awareness in America. Deadline: September 1st.
ABC Law Centers Cerebral Palsy Scholarship
This scholarship is for financial assistance designed to simultaneously increase awareness about cerebral palsy (CP) and celebrate the achievements of those with cerebral palsy. ABC Law Centers will award one scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a high school, undergraduate, or graduate student who has cerebral palsy. The 2019 Cerebral Palsy Scholarship will be presented to a single applicant who submits the required application and its accompanying essay by the deadline, July 31, 2019.
HIE Help Center Scholarship
The HIE Help Center is pleased to offer an annual scholarship for a student (or a small team of students) who is committed to helping people with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), cerebral palsy (CP), or another neonatal injury. Being personally impacted by HIE or another disability is not a requirement, as the scholarship focuses on the applicant’s goals to support those who are affected. Students with disabilities are welcome and encouraged to apply as well. A scholarship for the amount of $1,000 will be awarded each year to a student or small group of students collaborating on a project.

National Federation of the Blind of Texas (NFBTX) Scholarships
NFBTX awards scholarships to the best and brightest blind students each year at its state convention. Lois Ford LaBauve Scholarship
This scholarship is given in memory of Lois Ford La Bauve. Ms. La Bauve was a Texas schoolteacher for many years and always displayed a passion for learning. She was the director of Services for the Blind and Disabled at the Texas State Library and founded the Texas Talking Book program. At least one scholarship for a minimum of $500 will be awarded per year for students who have a disability that impairs their ability to access printed material. If funding is available, additional scholarships and/or scholarships of a larger monetary value will be awarded. Applications are reviewed during the spring semester. This scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Eric and is directed to help UT students who live with colitis, Crohn’s, IBS, or any chronic medical issue.

UT Scholarships for Students with Disabilities
Eric M. Suhl Endowed Scholarship
The Eric M. Suhl Scholarship was established in 2019 with funding provided by the Eric M. Suhl Foundation. Margaret Nosek Scholarship
For students who will be at the senior, master, or doctoral level in the next academic year. They must certify that they have a disability that causes a significant functional limitation in one or more major life activities. Applicants must provide evidence of ambition to pursue a career in research in any academic area. Preference will be given to traditionally underrepresented groups.
Carole L. Patterson Scholarship
For students with physical disabilities that are enrolled in at least six hours at UT Austin, with preference given to students with a mobility disability. Applicants must have at least a minimum 2.5 UT GPA. Financial need may be used to distinguish among applicants.
Will Rogers Memorial Scholarship
The Will Rogers Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a limited number of qualified students registered at The University of Texas at Austin. This scholarship is intended for disabled students or non-disabled students studying to work with disabled individuals, especially disabled children. “Disabled” in this context shall refer to students who have a physical or non-physical disability, including mental and spiritual hardships and obstacles caused by the environment and lack of opportunity. Financial need may be used to distinguish among applicants.
James M. Young Endowment
The James M. Young Endowment provides funding that is intended for currently enrolled UT students with disabilities needing financial support for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to: emergency funds, ongoing disability-related educational expenses, professional development opportunities, attending conferences/trainings and associated travel expenses, assistive technology, unexpected educational or disability-related expenses, and study abroad programs.
