Join us as we celebrate the art and writing of some of our talented students. Featuring selections from The Feminist Action Project’s zine, photos, and poetry.
Sparkle Party and GSC Rededication • January 23, 2015, 5pm-8pm • SAC Ballroom, 2.410 • January marks 10 years from the GSC’s ribbon cutting celebration! Put on something sparkly, and join us for a night of music, fun, and community. Testimonials from folks touched by the space, celebrations of our campus and community partners, and a cupcake bar!
GSC Speaker Series • February 3, 2015, 7pm-8pm • SAC Black Box Theater, 2.304 • We will welcome Eliel Cruz to campus to talk about feminist and queer issues and how they impact our communities.
GSC Open House • August, 28th 2014, 3pm-5pm • SAC 2.110 • Help us kick off our 10th year! Join us for tours of the space, decorate “genderbread cookies” and share your favorite memories of the space.
SLC host’s “Moving Through Privilege” • September 2014 • Gregory Plaza • The Student Leadership Committee’s 3rd Privilege Walk, designed to help students think critically about their own privilege. They also host a bake sale, so come help them fundraise and get a snack!
National Young Women’s Day of Action Luncheon • October 1st, 2014, 11:30am-1:30pm • SAC 2.410 • This will be our 9th year hosting NYWDOA, this year we will bring Mia McKenzie from Black Girl Dangerous to discuss race, gender, class and queerness.
Living with Pride: Coming out for the Holidays • November 20th, 2014, 7pm-8:30pm • SAC 2.110 • Students always appreciate hearing the perspectives of folks who have come before them. We will have a panel of students and staff who have come out at different times, and will be able to ask questions and get tips. In the GSC, snacks provided!
World AIDS Day Event • December 1, 2014, 5pm-7pm • SAC 2.120 • The Gender and Sexuality Center reflects on how HIV and AIDS have impacted our communities, while supporting our campus partners around education and prevention.
