Abolition & Rape Culture: A Roundtable Discussion

October 13, 2020

Curious about how abolition of the carceral state relates to sexual assault, rape culture, and survivor justice? Join the Gender and Sexuality Center, Students for Equity and Diversity, SAGE, and the Warfield Center for African and African American Studies for a roundtable discussion with featured guests Dr. Gloria González-López (UT Sociology), Shanell Henry (National Pan-Hellinic Council), Tasnim Islam (Plan II/Womens and Gender Studies/Portugese), and more. On Tuesday, October 13th at 4:45pm, guests will discuss their connections to rape culture and abolition work, how both of these issues are feminist issues, and how abolition could be used to address harm, support survivors, and build a future with community care and healing. Audience members will also have the opportunity to ask questions. Join using the link bit.ly/abolition-rapeculture
