25 years ago, Dr. Ronni Sanlo created Lavender Graduation at the University of Michigan to celebrate LGBTQ+ student achievement. Out of an abundance of caution and because we recognize that we are not over the pandemic yet, we are having our 2021 Lavender Graduation ceremony virtually. Like last year, we will also provide free care packages equipped with a rainbow stole, graduation certificate, info and swag from the Texas Exes Pride Alumni Network, a curated graduation playlist, a virtual cupcake (to be redeemed at any future Lavender Graduation you are able to attend), and stickers. Lavender Graduation is always open to current students and alumni who may have not gotten to participate in a previous Lavender Graduation.
