In honor of LGBT History Month, Annise Parker, former Mayor of Houston, Texas, is coming to UT Austin to speak about the intersection of public policy and the LGBT community. Mayor Parker will share insights relating to LGBT history in Texas, her personal and professional experiences in activism and politics, and her thoughts about the current political climate and future conflict and progress in policy. She will also offer advice to students who advocate for the LGBT community and aspire to roles as public servants and elected officials.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and there is no fee to attend. Those with a UT ID will be admitted first. In the event of any remaining seats after those with UT IDs have been admitted, they will be opened to the public.
