Dr. Victor Sáenz, Project MALES and Texas Education Consortium for Male Students of Color Executive Director, has been named a 2014 honoree of the Inaugural Education Advocate of the Year from the Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce on October 21, 2014.
The award recognizes Saenz’s positive impact to the field of education at the local and national level. An associate professor in the Department of Educational Administration, a DDCE faculty fellow, and faculty affiliate in the Center for Mexican American Studies, Sáenz’s research focuses on Latino males in higher education. His current research on this topic examines their experiences at both two-year and four-year institutions as they navigate their college pathways. View More
