Over the years the Project MALES Student Organization has been an important part of our organization. They support our overall mission by bringing awareness to the gender gap that exists in regards to the educational attainment for young men of color, specifically Latino males. The student members strive to fulfill this mission by engaging the surrounding local community in different events and activities each semester.
Last year the Project MALES Student Organization had one of their most successful years to date. They hosted and participated in multiple events at UT-Austin and in the community. Events included the participation of the Project MALES student organization in the First Annual Transfer Student Social, volunteering at Austin’s Pets Alive, a Project MALES bowling night at the Underground, and raising over $800 throughout the year to support community service projects.
This year, we are looking forward to more successful events and activities. We would like to introduce the Project MALES Student Council for the 2015-2016 Academic School Year. We want to thank our student leaders for their continuous commitment to, leadership, civic engagement, and community service.
