The Project MALES Faculty and Research Affiliates Program hosted its members during a breakfast meeting at this year’s Association for the Study of Higher Education conference in Denver, Colorado. The goal of the Project MALES Faculty and Research Affiliates Program is to raise the visibility of our affiliates’ research on young males of color by amplifying their work to our growing national network of P-16 practitioners and administrators. Project MALES is committed to cultivating and amplifying the work of scholars whose research agenda is well aligned with the goals of our various research and mentoring initiatives.
Attending the event were affiliates representing the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Texas at Arlington, the University of Arizona, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the University of California, San Diego, Iowa State University, San Diego State University, Florida Atlantic University, and Eastern Michigan University. Our Research and Faculty Affiliates are authoring research briefs that focus on the schooling experiences of Latino males. Our first three briefs have been published by Dr. David Perez II, Assistant Professor, at Miami University in Oxford, OH. Dr. Taryn O. Allen, Assistant Professor, at the University of Texas, at Arlington, and Dr. Nolan Cabrera, Assistant Professor, at the University of Arizona. To access all research briefs please click here.
