The Project MALES Faculty and Research Program is excited to announce that Dr. Taryn Allen, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, at the University of Texas in Arlington and Dr. Deryl Hatch, Assistant Professor of Educational Administration in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln, were both selected to serve as editors for the Journal of The First-Year Experience & Students in Transition (JFYEST).
The journal is a semiannual refereed journal providing current research on the first college year and other significant student transitions. The primary purpose of the Journal is to disseminate empirical research findings on student transition issues that inform practice in all sectors of postsecondary education, including but not limited to: (1) Explorations into the academic, personal, and social experiences of students at a range of transition points throughout the college years, (2) Transition issues unique to specific populations, and (3) Explorations of faculty development, curriculum, and pedagogical innovations connected to any of the transitions identified above. Dr. Allen and Dr. Hatch will serve a three-year term ending in December 2018.
We are honored to have Dr. Allen and Dr. Deryl Hatch as part of our Project MALES Faculty Affiliates. We look forward to their future contributions and leadership as editorial board members and as faculty affiliates in the Project MALES Faculty and Research Affiliates Program.
