Project Mentoring to Achieve Latino Educational Success (MALES) has received two Tower Awards-the Bright Future Award (for the 2nd year in a row) for mentoring middle and high school male students of color in the Austin community and the Outstanding Community Based Learning Course for the LA 113 P: Impacting Males through Mentoring course through the College of Liberal Arts!!!
The Tower Awards are presented annually to honor and highlight excellence in service among the students, faculty and staff at The University of Texas at Austin as well as partners in the community. Each year, numerous Longhorns give their time, talent, resources and voice to help strengthen their local community. Nominations from local non-profit organizations, community members, UT faculty, staff, students, and registered student organizations were submitted and reviewed.
There will be an awards ceremony for our all of our honorees on April 27, 2016 from 6-8pm in the Santa Rita Suite (3.502) of The Texas Union. Please help us congratulate our student mentors and staff for their outstanding work and dedication to our project.
