On behalf of Project MALES we would like to welcome Dr. Adrian Huerta as our newest Project MALES Research Affiliate. Dr. Huerta is currently a postdoctoral scholar in the Higher Education Research Institute and a Research Associate at the Choices Project at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies. His research interests include college access and success for young men of color with an emphasis on Latino males in the pK-20 educational pipeline, gangs and gang knowledge, the high school to college transition using qualitative research methods. He earned a Ph.D. and M.A. in higher education from UCLA; an M.A. in educational policy and leadership from Ohio State University, and a B.S. in Human Services from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His work has been published in the Journal of College Student Development, Journal of First-Year Experiences and Students in Transition, and the Journal of Latino/Latin American Studies.
