On July 21st, the Texas Education Consortium for Male Students of Color (TECMSC) was honored with a “Recognition of Excellence” at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board meeting. Dr. Victor Sáenz, Executive Director and Founder of Project MALES and the Texas Education Consortium for Male Students of Color, Dr. Luis Ponjuán, Co-founder of Project MALES and the Texas Education Consortium for Male Students of Color, and Dr. Emmet Campos, Director of Project MALES and the Texas Education Consortium for Male Students of Color received the award.
Additionally, Dr, Sáenz, Dr. Ponjuán, and Dr. Campos delivered some remarks about the work the Consortium is doing across the state of Texas. Dr, Sáenz, Dr. Ponjuán, and Dr. Campos addressed members of the Coordinating Board, guests including chancellors and presidents of postsecondary institutions, chief academic officers, chief instructional officers, and other higher education leaders. This is important recognition of the excellent and valuable work that our Consortium partner members, Consortium Advisory Council and the staff at UT-Austin and Texas A&M University are doing to advance our work on male students of color in Texas. Congratulations to all!
